Oh, I believe I can fly!

Capt Grace Mutia info@airspacenews.co.ke My name is Allan Kasanga, I am 11 years old. I love aircraft. I dream of being a pilot every day! My interest in aviation started when I was two and a half years old. We flew on a family holiday with my parents on a local airline. I loved flying, so much. I asked my parents and the flight attendants all the questions about the aircraft and the plane. I also met the flight crew, pilot and first officer who were very polite and friendly to me. I peeped into the cock pit and was amazed; my dream to become a pilot was birthed. My parents have since bought me books and journals on aviation. They introduced me to some of their close friends, who are pilots. I got to ask further questions about what a pilot’s life is like. I was amazed at their experiences, including how they get the best view of the world from the skies. I have since taught myself the theoretical aspect of how to fly a plane. I spend hours of my free time on flight simulators. I am an expert at taking off and landing a Cessna aircraft. I am a technology enthusiast; I love video games. I also love reading history books on aviation and the evolution of designs of aircraft from 1903 to date. My two all-time favourite carriers are the Antonov AN-225 because of its magnanimous size and the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, the fastest jet in the world. As I join junior high school next year, I hope to enrol in a flight school and start the journey to pursue my dreams. By the time I complete senior school, I hope to have graduated from flying school and own my own Cessna 150 aircraft to start off my airline service company - Allan Airways!
